Zagreb is first time mentioned in written documents as capital city of Croatia. 1850. Kaptol and Gradec are united into the city Zagreb, and in 1991. Zagreb becomes capital city of Croatia when parliament declares independence and sovereignty of Republic of Croatia.

New Zagreb is part of Zagreb. It is situated on south side of river Sava after World War II. It is consisted of three quarts: New Zagreb East, New Zagreb West and Brezovica. New Zagreb is known by Zagreb`s fair.
