Stobrec (Croatia, Central Dalmatia) is a town in central Dalmatia situated 6 km southeast of Split. Chief occupations are farming, fruit growing, wine production, vegetable and tourism. The coastal region west of the town is defined by precipices. Stobrec lies on the capital road (M2, E65).

Firstly a Greek colony, Stobrec later became the Roman settlement Epetium. The monastery constructions were reconstructed on the ruins of the early Christian basilica of St. Lawrence, and where the apse of the basilica used to be, Christian small church of St. Lawrence was erected (later Our Lady of Mount Carmel).
