Kastela (Croatia, Central Dalmatia) is situated alongside the coast of bay of Kastela. It`s population is over 40000, it is very specific because it composed out of seven small settlements that have developed around seven castles and over the years merged into the city of Kastela. The seven Kastela are Sucurac, Gomilica, Kambelovac, Novi , Stari, Stafilic and Luksic.

The whole bay of Kastela is placed in the bottom of Kozjak, Kozjak is a hill about 700 m high. Kastela stretches over 17 km. On the beginning of Kastela (the side nearer to Split) there is an industrial zone with a cement factory, steel mill and some other factories. Besides factories there a are also few large shopping centers there. On the end of Kastela there is an agricultural region, olives, grapes and cherries are grown there. There are also many greenhouses in the area. Split`s airport is situated in the west part of Kastela.

In Kastela there is large number of hotels, apartments and a camp. In every Kastel there is a small marina, except in the Kastel Gomilica where there is a new port that can accommodate large number of boats and yachts. There are also several beaches in Kastela, and the sea is beautiful. The Museum of the town of Kastela found its place in the Vitturi castle, and an exhibition room in onetime bishop's summer residence in Kastel Sucurac.
