Crikvenica (Croatia, Kvarner) is located in the Kvarner bay of the Adriatic Sea. City of Rijeka is 33 kilometres far away. Main road comes through Crikvenica and it is the centre of Primorje and Gorski kotar. Entire Crikvenica is Riviera and it connects small tourist places, Selce, Jadranovo and Dramalj. Crikvenica spreads on area of 28 square kilometres and it is 15 kilometres long and about 2 kilometres wide. Average height of Crikvenica is about 300 metres above the sea level. The nearest airport is on island Krk and nearest cargo and passenger port is in Rijeka. Crikvenica has more than 100 years tourist tradition.

HISTORY AND CULTURE
Crikvenica is rich with historical and cultural monuments, you can find spears, Bronze age swords, axes and jewellery.. In suburban areas you can still find prehistoric graves and burial mounds unaffected by urbanization. Many fortified prehistoric villages have been found in Crikvenica dating from the Bronze and Iron age.

Crikvenica is sheltered from strong winds from north due to slopes of the mountain Kapela and from south due to island of Krk. Climate is mild, dry, fair and pleasant warm summers and mild winters. Average annual temperature is 14 C and average summer temperature is 23.6 C. In winter, snow and fog are very rare.
