Vela Luka (Croatia, South Dalmatia, Island Korcula) is one of the largest towns in island Korcula. Town Korcula is 24 km far away from Vela Luka. Korcula, Blato and Vela Luka are three island centres and they grow into touristic and industrial centres. In front of the Vela Luka bay is an small island, Proizd. Small boats will take you to it and you can enjoy in a crystal clear sea and sun.

In a cave Spilinski Rat you can visit Neolithic remains and Roman remains have been found in Privala, Bradat, Picena, Tecar, Kovnice and many other locations. Near Gradina is a small church on an island and all around church are the ruins of a monachs shelter. Kastel of the Ismaellis Korcula princess is the oldest preserved monument in Vela Luka. Church of Saint Josip is built in the 19th century when don P. Jokovic, its priest, took advantage of the archduke Francis Karlo and told him to ask his father, emperor Francis Joseph to build the church.
