Pazin (Croatia, Istria) is small town situated in the centre of Istrian peninsula. It has a rich and long tradition. Castle of Pazin is first time mentioned in 983 and it is the biggest and well preserved fortress in Istria. Since 983 it was conquered, destroyed and rebuilt many times during the history.

Cave of Pazin is a miracle and unique work of nature and it is a big attraction for tourists. Many traver writers, Petronio, Yriarte, Valvasor, Jules Verne, describe it like a beautiful place. Mathias Sandorf and his two friends were arrested and locked in the Castle of Pazin.
