Pakostane (North Dalmatia, Croatia) is located between the sea and Lake Vransko, in region North Dalmatia, Croatia. Pakostane is located 36 km south from Zadar and 41 km north from Sibenik. Municipality Pakostane has around 3900 inhabitants.

Pakostane was first time mentioned in 15th century. In Roman times, on area of Pakostane, used to be port Asseria. Today, there are remains of villages and villas kept. Many times, Pakostane were ruined by Turks and inhabitants moved to islands. In 16th century defense walls were built for protection.
