TOURIST INFORMATION KALI (ISLAND UGLJAN)

Kali (Croatia, North Dalmatia, Island Ugljan) is largest settlement on island Ugljan. It has been mentioned since 1299. and before. Old center of Kali called Siget is located on a hill, where is a Church of St. Lovro, protector of Kali.

Kali is connected with Zadar with permanent ferry connection, but there is also post office, stores, medical institution in Kali. Very big part of uninhabitated Kali is covered with olive groves. Olives are processed in Kali's oil mill, one of the largest on Zadar's islands. Inhabitants are also directed to fishing, mostly blue fish and agriculture.

Kali offers more than 800 beds in villas, private apartments and rooms you can stay in. For Kali there is one more specificity: dialect Kualjski govor (Kali's speech) that some think sounds like shout and conflict.
