Alternatively rent a car and visit famous beaches of Island, ride to mountain Vidova Gora and visit the highest peak of Dalmatian islands that provides spectacular view almost to the Italy. If you take 45-minute ferry ride from Sumartin to the town of Makarska you can wander through the one of the most famous touristic resorts in Croatia or visit Split and its 1700-year-old alleyways of the Diocleceans Palace. For a quiet holiday come in April-June or September/October. Easy and regular access to the mainland makes it a great place for a convenient base from which to visit the historic sites of Split. Local activities cycling, diving, fishing, paragliding, sailing, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing, wind-surfing. Means of access: Come by car to Split, take the 45 min car ferry to Supetar and then take the 45 min taxi ride to Sumartin.
